Cycles Connections questions

Essential questions

1-How does a metamorphic rock become a sedimentary rock?

Metamorphic rocks turn into sedimentary rocks by passing in few processes, weathering turn the metamorphic rocks into sediments, and then by compaction and cementation, sediments turn into sedimentary rocks.

2- How does Magma change into metamorphic rocks?

Magma changes to metamorphic rocks by few processes, Magma comes out of a volcano, it is called lava, and then lava cools down and turn into igneous rocks, finally igneous rocks turn into metamorphic rocks by heat and pressure

3- How does a consumer become a fossil fuel?

When the consumers die, decomposers break down their bodies and after thousands of years they turn into fossil fuels.

4-How can a fossil fuel be used in photosynthesis?

In the consumption process, while the burning of fossil fuels, it releases carbon dioxide into the air which is used in the photosynthesis process.

5- How does a lake water turn into clouds?

The sunlight evaporates the water in the lake and turn it to water vapor, then the condensation process happens and water vapor turns into clouds.

6- How can a cloud turn into groundwater?

The precipitation process happens, it causes runoff, and finally water goes underground by infiltration

Life of carbon project parts

Vocabulary Words

Sun light: The energy produced by the sun
Producers: Organisms that make their food like plants
photosynthesis: The process by which plants absorb water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight to produce energy and release oxygen into the air
Absorption: process of absorbing
Consumers: organisms that depend on other organisms to live like humans and animals
Respiration: When organisms take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide
Diffusion: When Co2 is released from the water like oceans and seas
Decomposition: The process when decomposers break down dead animals bodies
Decomposers: Organisms that break down dead animals bodies
fossils: The remains of the dead animals
Fossil fuels: The energy made up from the fossils after thousands of years.
Co2 emission: Emissions of Co2 from burning oil, coal and gas for energy use

Reflection questions

What did you enjoy most about this project and why?
I enjoyed all parts of this project, it was very exciting and interesting project that I would like to do it over and over again.

What was the most challenging for you during this project and why?
The most challenging part was to express my ideas into the animation video. it was hard to make a good video with no or very few mistakes.

What new skills did you learn from doing this project?
I learnt how to make a good animation video and how to make a quiz to test others.

Is there anything that you could have done to improve any of your work?
If I was to do this project again I would do some experiments to support my ideas and work.
